The Durham (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has sponsored its charity event, Shades of Green Luncheon and Fashion Show since 2014. As the Premier Runway Fashion Event of the Triangle, it will continue to feature the latest fashions from the New York and Las Vegas fashion markets along with fashions from local department stores and on-site vendors. Rocking the runway and showcasing the beautiful and unique fashions are graceful, energetic and sassy professional models from several modeling agencies. The event is a sellout each year, attracting over 600 loyal and enthusiastic supporters.
Funds raised from our charity event have been contributed to scholarship programs, including the Chapter’s special endowment at North Carolina Central University. Other programs and/or organizations that received contributions are: Community Health Coalition; Family Moving Forward; Stem Program; Merrick Washington Braille Magazine; Special Mentoring Programs (LEAP/LSEP at NCCU) and Summer Camp Initiatives.
